Too much of a good thing.

Sunshine is delicious, rain is refreshing, wind braces us up, snow is exhilarating; there is really no such thing as bad weather, only different kinds of good weather.

--- John Ruskin

Even Mr. Fig is surprised!

This flood is the result of an abundance of rain, which we need so much, and it is the result of a bit of snow melt and warm weather, so we have an abundance of refreshing, exhilatating elements. The fact that I have to put waders to walk the dog is just an opportunity to get out and see the yard, it is more exercise because the boots have a felt sole that absorbs water. Heavy. When I walked out to the back I was up to my hips in water. This link shows the other side of the weir gates, and talks about the process a bit. Film crews will be onsite, again on Tuesday.
Not much in the way of pictures, the water is just a lot higher. Mind you, as of this writing at 9 pm everything is at least foot higher. They are now, apparently, not opening the gates until the I Street gauge says 30 feet. That is 2.5 feet higher than previous years.
Debri field looking West past the lawn

Back step, as of 3 pm the next step up was submerged

Looking West from the corner of the house, all but 3 inches of the palm are submerged

Front, I have since moved my car up 3 more feet, water is a foot higher vertically
The cleanup is going to take weeks because the direction of the wind is pushing debri north into the yard. But it is also depositing all sorts of interesting things. Like a treasure hunt. More to come, water and this spring, snow melt.
